Hartford Hundred Support for Ukraine

We are a group of five villages in the Hartford Hundred who wish to help those in Ukraine fleeing the invasion.  Our friendly villages are situated in beautiful countryside within commuter distance from London.  Although we are rural there are transport links to the city and within the county.  We are fortunate to have access locally to schools, shops, pubs, churches, sports opportunities and more.  We have families who wish to host and we have an energetic support group ready to help out.  Each parish has their own representatives in our group.  We are expanding our network across our villages and so please join us.  Thank you to those who have already contacted us.

Are you thinking of hosting?

We are working with the Diocese of St Albans who are facilitating the hosting of families in the villages. We already have several families who wish to become hosts and are going through the process.  We understand this is an important decision for any household so we are ready to provide advice so far as we are able. If you would like more information or just a chat about what’s involved please email:

Can you help those who are hosting families?

We need volunteers to support those who are hosting. There are general areas of support in areas such as transport, food, schools, community support, fundraising, translation, teaching English etc. There may also be particular areas of support, skills or expertise which you have. Please get in touch with us:

Are you a Ukrainian family looking for a host family in the UK?

We have lovely families here who are willing to host and a Support Group who will provide assistance. We are working with the St Albans Diocese who are acting to provide safe environments for Ukrainian refugees and we can liaise with them on your behalf. Please contact us on:
